“We were supposed to come on Saturday to resolve the conflict between Edwin and Anita. They were living in constant conflict and had been arguing for a long time. Anita had asked me and her father to come so that we could separate them.

Edwin was bothering Anita for a while. He was helping her, but in return, he harassed and assaulted her. He took his money and possessions. There was nothing he didn’t do for Anita. I am in great pain,” said Serah Mugweru, asking the government to ensure justice for her daughter.

He said Anita was his third child and the breadwinner of the family, working as an accountant.

Serah noted that Anita was raising one of her siblings and helping the family with various projects and financial obligations.

Serah Mugweru praises her daughter Anita

“He was very kind to us. He always stood by us in every project, whether it was construction or paying school fees. He carried our family. Now we are in pain,” he cried.

Anita and Edwin were married and lived together peacefully for a while until the situation changed.

No one expected Edwin to turn on his wife in such a way, leaving the family struggling to accept the sad truth.

“Edwin used to threaten Anita. Many times he called me saying he had threatened to kill her. What I am asking is for the government to follow up on this case and make sure that justice is done. What he did to us is not something that will go away. It has hurt us forever,” the mother of four said.
