Ngugi recently lost his father, who was a truck owner, and the boy was working for his father as a turnboy; he had to take the business, and this was his first trip to the country.
Ngugi was found dead in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and his family learned of his death ten days later through photos shared by fellow truck drivers on WhatsApp.

Ngugi’s cousin shared details of his emergency call hours before he went silent, where he talked about the soldiers who later abandoned him in the hands of the rebels.

Ngugi made the last phone call before death
Another news revealed that Ngugi made an emergency call to his cousin at home and shared his situation after his truck broke down.
Ngugi sent a voice message to his cousin shortly before he was killed, and this caused the family to also start searching for him.
His family asked for help to retrieve his body from the Democratic Republic of Congo after failing to reach his employer, who has been silent since the incident.
