Nairobi – Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi has officially recorded a statement by officers of the Department of Criminal Investigation (DCI) in Parliament regarding his recent attack by alleged hoodlums. Poisonous.
Accompanied by members of Linda Wanchi’s team on Tuesday, April 14, Osotsi demanded the immediate arrest and prosecution of those allegedly plotting an attack against him in Kisumu.
The group wants immediate action, claiming it has what it describes as “very strong” evidence linking a senior government official to the incident.
They warned that they will pursue private prosecutions if government agencies fail to quickly arrest and prosecute the officer.

Governor of Siaya James Orengo He said they are not satisfied with the way the investigation into the attack on the Vihiga senator is being conducted.
“I have taken on the responsibility of being the chief lawyer for my colleague, Chief Linda Mwananchi, Sen. Godfrey Osotsi, about the recent attack in Kisumu. Today, we joined him at the Bunge Police Station in Nairobi to officially record his statement. Together with my lawyer friends Edwin Sifuna and Babu Owino, we have committed ourselves to ensure full accountability for the attackers as well as those who sponsor them. Justice will not be prevented by violence,” said Orengo.
Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna he said the group has enough evidence linking senior government officials in the security sector to the thugs who attacked Osotsi.
“If the weight of the evidence cannot compel the police to take action against the hooligans themselves, as well as those who organized these hooligans, then basically there is no law enforcement. There is no law. And the situation is so bad that the people behind these hooligans themselves are in the law enforcement agencies. I don’t know how bad the situation can be in a country where the people entrusted with the responsibility of protecting the public are the ones who attack people in restaurants,” said Sifuna.
Sifuna also announced that Linda Mwananchi’s group will hold a big political meeting in Kisumu county on April 26 to thank residents for exposing the people who attacked the Vihiga senator.
“We will come to Kisumu on the 26th of this month to thank the people of Kisumu in person for the work they did to expose these criminals. So after Nakuru this weekend, this Sunday, we will be in Kisumu on the 26th. The message we are sending is that the people of Kisumu themselves are peaceful people,” he announced.
