The man landed on the ground floor of the landmark building around 5am on Tuesday, drawing a crowd as officers quickly secured the scene.
Witnesses gave different accounts, with others claiming he may have jumped from an upper floor, although authorities said they have yet to confirm that explanation.
Did the man fall from the KICC building?
Central Police Commander Stephene Nyakombo confirmed that investigators were treating the case as a suspicious death, but noted that important information was still missing.

The body was later transferred to the mortuary pending identification and post-mortem examination, while the police continued to analyze the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
The incident has again raised concerns about security and access control inside the iconic Nairobi building, as well as mental health challenges that may not be seen in busy urban areas.
How many people fell from KICC in 2024?
This is not the first time such a tragedy has been reported to KICC. In December 2024, police launched an investigation after a middle-aged man reportedly jumped from the 10th floor of the building and died on the spot.
His body was also taken to the mortuary while the authorities tried to determine the cause of the incident.
The incident happened shortly after another incident earlier in the month, where a woman identified as Lily Wangeci is said to have jumped from the 14th floor after allegedly sharing heartbreaking messages on social media.
Efforts to reach the KICC management for official information about the incidents, including the security measures put in place to prevent similar incidents in the future, were fruitless.

What happened at the KRA Kisumu offices?
In a related incident, a man died after falling from the second floor of the Kenya Revenue Authority offices at Lake Basin Mall in Poisonous in October 2025.
The incident happened in Mamboleo and led to a quick police response and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fall.
The man, described as middle-aged, suffered serious injuries after the fall and later died. The tax authority confirmed the incident in an official statement, offering its condolences to the family and noting that it was cooperating closely with law enforcement to determine what happened.
Police officers attended the scene while the investigation continues. According to reports, the man had arrived in the area earlier before the incident, with some accounts suggesting that he may have committed suicide, possibly linked to a tax-related matter under review.
