Raphael Tuju moved into Dari Business Park on Sunday morning, April 19, 2026, marking a defiant return to the property following weeks of police barricades. The former Cabinet Secretary stated that his residency aligns with a court order that halts any sale or transfer of the disputed Karen property until the court reaches a final decision.
The legal directive cited by Tuju explicitly protects the assets under dispute:
“THAT pending the hearing and determination of this application, there shall be an order preserving the substratum of the dispute, and accordingly, there shall be no sale, transfer, assignment, alienation, charge, lease, disposal, or in any manner whatsoever dealing with the title and/or ownership of the suit property (L.R. No. 11320/3 and L.R. No. 1055/165) until further orders of the Court.”
Tuju intends to remain at the premises permanently and has rejected the presence of security officials, whom he accuses of acting on behalf of his political and business rivals. He remains critical of the law enforcement officers who previously managed the site, citing a history of mistreatment.
“After all, they illegally raided my premises, they assaulted me, and they or their masters can not be my friends. If these are the type of people who claim to be my friends, I would rather be with my enemies,” Tuju said in a Sunday statement.
He further challenged the police to respect the judicial process rather than facilitate what he describes as a “land grab.” Tuju maintains that, according to current rulings, the property belongs to him and warned that he will only vacate if presented with a valid, court-sanctioned eviction notice.
“The police should only be on site to enforce Court orders not to be part of a land grab operation. According to the latest Court rulings this is my property. The police can not come to evict me without a valid court order. If they produce such a court order, I will obey.”
