Shalvine Khayi was scalded with hot water following a minor misunderstanding with a customer, leaving her in severe pain.
Speaking to the press, Shalvine narrated a shocking account of his horrific ordeal.
What happened to the Kakamega business woman?
“Sharon came with a KSh 1,000 note, saying she wanted to buy two samosas worth KSh 20. I told her I did not have the balance of that amount of money and asked her to find change elsewhere and return it,” said Shalvine.

The customer then threatened him, saying he could stab him multiple times. In response, Shalvine asked him to stop making threats.
Immediately after his answer, Sharon slapped him, and he retaliated, causing an argument with the customer, not knowing what would happen next.
A few minutes later, one of the customer’s friends, who he said was called Val, arrived carrying a jug of hot water. He handed it to Sharon, who then poured Shalvine on her, leaving her with severe burns on her hands.
“People who realized that the water was hot started shouting, telling me to run because the water was hot. Some were leaving. I immediately stopped fighting and left, but I twisted my leg at that time and fell,” he said.
Sensing that the customer intended to stab her in the face, Shalvine quickly took off her sweater and covered her face before Sharon reached her with a pitcher of hot water.
He ended up with burns on his hands and thighs, as well as a puncture wound on his shoulder.
In addition, Shalvine also claimed that the woman had a bottle of poison, which he believed was also meant for him.
The incident left many residents puzzled, wondering if the two women had underlying problems other than a disagreement over the samosas.
