This is due to the extreme crime wave, which has caused several households to lose their property, including livestock and kitchen utensils.
Vicky Chepkwony went viral a week ago after being filmed ordering the local chief to remain silent during the interview when he was talking about the increase in crime rates in the village.
The incident happened in Soin village, Sachangwan.
Why did Vicky Chepkwony order the chief to shut up?
Chepkwony said he was angered by the administrator’s mockery of protest their to shout about the increase in crime.
Speaking exclusively to TUKO.co.ke from his village, Chepkwony said he was worried about his safety after the confrontation.
However, he did not receive any threats against his life and vowed to continue to forcefully hold the leaders accountable.
“I was saddened by the theft of the only cow that my neighbor had; we heard cries, ran to see what was going on, then we found out that their cow was stolen and slaughtered,” he said.
The brave woman revealed that they gathered that Sunday morning to express their anger, then the local administrator came due to the noise and asked the reason for the protest.
“When the chief arrived, he did not treat us with respect. I felt very hurt because he seemed to be mocking us, questioning how crying will help us,” he said.
He said he had to stand firm against the supervisor after he tried to stop them from talking about the issues that bothered them.
“We respect the chief, but our voices must be heard; we cannot remain silent when our security is deteriorating, while theft is happening everywhere,” he said.

Why Vicky will continue to face government officials
Lilian Ngeno, another woman affected by theft, said her pots were stolen by thieves a few weeks ago when they broke into her home.
He said despite submitting complaints to the village elders and administrators, no action was taken.
Instead, they have noted many incidents of home invasions.
“Chief, we love you and we do not despise you, but we want you to serve us by addressing the security challenges in this area,” he said.
The women also explained that the area faces many challenges, including the long distance to school, a situation that puts their young children at risk of being hit by cars on the dangerous Salgaa-Sachangwan road.
Chepkwony and her fellow women in the village said they have vowed to be brave in demanding action be taken, as many of them have been affected by the wave.
