Charlene has increasingly built a public position for herself as a youth advocate and entrepreneur, distinguishing herself among the president’s children for her direct participation in development projects.
Smachs Foundation, a non-governmental organization, focuses on empowering youth in climate-friendly agriculture, environmental conservation and food security.
The program promotes sustainable farming methods, the use of clean energy, and youth-led projects such as model farms aimed at combating hunger and climate change.
How did Charlene impress her father with her hard work?
On Sunday, April 19, Charlene joined the president in the service of the African Gospel Church before accompanying him to the official opening and dedication of the Sanctuary, the AGC Head Office, and the AGC Tenwek Clinic in Nairobi.
After the event, Charlene led her team to present the progress achieved under her institution, guiding the president through various projects.
At one stop, they highlighted their beekeeping operations, displaying jars of honey harvested from their hives.
At another station, Charlene described efforts that coincide with the government’s ambitious tree-planting campaign aimed at restoring the environment.
He said that the program currently has the capacity to produce about 100,000 seedlings, with about 40,000 already planted, and runs more than ten working beehives.
The president was later seen laying the foundation stone for a construction project underway in the area, while Charlene and other officials looked on.
Throughout the visit, the head of state was clearly delighted, smiling as he looked at the progress and leadership shown by his daughter in developing development projects aimed at the youth.
