Kajiado – Leader of the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) Rigathi Gachagua He has criticized William Ruto for failing to address allegations of gang terrorism (goonism) in political meetings.

Speaking at a political meeting on Sunday, April 12, Gachagua warned his former boss that the chaos seen across the country could plunge the nation into a state of uncertainty before the 2027 General Election.

The former vice president warned that if anything happens to the United Opposition leaders, the country could easily descend into civil war.

“Do not create a situation that will force us to remove you from power. If Fred Matiang’i, Kalonzo Musyoka, Riggy Eugene and other leaders are injured, you will be removed from power. Do not drag this country into a civil war,” Gachagua warned.

According to Gachagua, security officers under Ruto, including the Minister of Internal Security Dating Murkomenhave failed to show the real picture of political terrorism witnessed in Kenya.

“We only tell the truth because people like Murkomen will not tell you the truth,” said the former vice president.

The DCP leader went on to say that gang terrorism will “overwhelm” the president, as happened in Sudan and Haiti.

“The RSF war started like this, but now it is Murkomen who is issuing passports. The Haiti crisis started like this… with their president… These groups that are walking around will be a problem later,” he said.

How the police disrupted the Gachagua Kikuyu meeting

His statements come a few days after the police used live ammunition to break up a DCP meeting in Kikuyu constituency, Kiambu county.

Gachagua launched his campaign against him Ruto to Kikuyu on Saturday, April 11, where groups of suspected hooligans clashed with the police.

It all started when the groups set fire to the road to block the Southern Bypass, causing traffic jams.

Local MP Kimani Ichung’wah blamed the mess on Gachagua, who later responded to him trying to clean himself up.

Despite the existing tension, Gachagua and his caravan continued to the town of Kikuyu, where his followers had gathered for the expected meeting.

However, his arrival was quickly interrupted after police fired tear gas to disperse the crowd.

Gachagua, who was wearing a helmet and a bulletproof jacket, had just started to address the residents when the police arrived.

In his speech, the DCP leader continued to attack Ichung’wah, accusing him of betraying the Mount Kenya area and collaborating with the president to persecute the residents of the area.

He was unable to continue his speech after government officials fired tear gas, forcing the crowd to disperse as attendees ran for safety.

Earlier, the former deputy president claimed that Ruto has used group terrorism as a weapon to suppress the opposition.

He accused Ichung’wah of inciting thugs to disrupt his meeting, an allegation Ichung’wah denied.
