Babu has increased his claims that the senior government official encouraged thugs to disrupt Linda Mwananchi’s meetings in Western Kenya on Saturday, February 21, the public meetings continued but were met with chaos.
At the Amalemba stadium in Kakamega, tear gas was thrown into the crowd, disrupting the meeting for a while.
In Mbale Town, a suspected hired criminal was killed in circumstances that are still being denied amid the circulation of videos online which also showed groups of youths in what appears to be a strategic move, allegedly to stop Babu, Sifuna and their team.
It has now emerged that earlier warnings may have affected the team’s performance before the meeting began.
How did the grandfather support his claim?
In an interview with KTN News on Monday, February 23, Babu claimed he received a text message warning him about a plan to ambush him in the city Poisonous before the expected Kakamega meeting.
The Member of Parliament, who has been at the forefront of the Linda Mwananchi movement together with the Nairobi senator Edwin Sifunasaid the messages provided intelligence on alleged mobilization efforts in Kondele and at Kisumu International Airport.
Pressed during a live television interview to confirm his claims against the Minister of Interior, Babu gave what he described as evidence, text messages from people he said were motivated to attack him.
In one of the messages read during the interview, the sender allegedly warned him that groups had mobilized to stop him at the airport, weapons were being collected, and that another team had already gone to the Kakamega meeting hall.
The sender also claimed that instructions have been given to ensure that he does not get incidents so that those who are motivated get paid. Babu maintained that he could not reveal the identity of the people for security reasons, but insisted that the message was admissible as evidence.
He claimed that as a lawyer, he understood the legal threshold required to support the public accusations he made against the PS.
“As a lawyer, I have to support my accusations with evidence. If you see this message, I don’t want to reveal someone’s name for security and the message says I am with you” Grandpa, we have been mobilized to go to the airport and Raymond’s people should not enter. We go through the hardware to take swords and taribo. The other team has gone to the stage where the buses are ready to go to Kakamega. Kina Omosh was round there in Kondele, they have been given instructions that they must make you run so that their money will come out.” That is one. This is not rumour, this is evidence and hearsay evidence is also accepted in the court of law,” Babu said.
In the second message, which he also read during the interview, the sender allegedly said that they had been hired to attack him and his followers for a fee of KSh 1,000 each.
The man is said to have pleaded with her not to travel to Kisumu Airport and hinted that financial problems were the reason for their involvement.

Babu claimed that the messages showed that some of those motivated were mainly motivated by the promise of payment instead of political conviction.
“Number two, this is one of those people,…” Grandpa, please be careful, Raymond Omollo made us attack you and your followers. He paid us KSh 1k each. Do not come to Kisumu Airport. I will just take the money because I have nothing to eat today.” I cannot mention names for security. These are hired people. If they have shown here that their intention was only to have money,” he said.
