Kuria predicted that many communities will want to hold positions in the national government, describing politics as a form of investment.
“Ruto will look to go with the most likely option… He will invest when he sees that he will make a profit,” he added.
Kuria also emphasized that the success of the integrated government will depend heavily on the former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and the United Opposition coalition.
“Leaders are divided. There will be many movements in 2026. Everything is in the hands of Gachagua. There are people who will not enjoy an integrated government, but if they look the other way and see Gachagua is the one clapping, then the whole situation changes,” he said.

Kuria’s statement about Mudavadi’s push to amend the Constitution
The former minister also talked about the ongoing efforts of the Prime Minister of the Council of Ministers, Stay Mudavadito amend the Constitution before the 2027 elections.
Kuria said the changes will benefit all Kenyans regardless of their political positions.
He said he would be very surprised if the opposition opposes the plan, as they did with the BBI Plan.
“Our bargaining power (of the Kikuyus) has been lost. Other parts of the country can stay and form a government without us. And then we still say we don’t want to expand the government at least to protect our interests? I’m really waiting for the opposition to oppose it. It’s going to be a sad day, but I’ll just take my popcorn,” he said.
