The arrival of the body caused grief in the country, causing strong reactions from some Kenyans.

How did Kenyans respond to Edwin Njunguna’s murder?

Arthur Amug Osiya, Bungoma county gubernatorial candidate, said he visited the Njunguna family in Malaba to offer his condolences following the sudden death of their son.

“I stood in solidarity with the family of the late Edwin Njuguna as we paid tribute to his life. A resident of Malaba, he suffered a tragic and sudden death at the hands of rebels in eastern DRC, a painful reminder of the lack of security that affects innocent citizens outside our borders. We shared the family’s grief, offered condolences, and reflected on the value of peace, security, and the protection of human life,” he said.

Did the DRC official abuse the Kenyan drivers?

In related news, a video showed a drunken police officer confronting Kenyan truck drivers stuck in traffic.

The officer demanded the documents, saying that he had the authority to give them permission to enter the area.

The incident comes amid concerns from long-distance drivers about ongoing abuse, beatings, and violence during their transport journeys.
