Governor of Nakuru Susan Kihika has thanked her friends for supporting her after giving birth to her twins.

He noted that a year ago, he returned to Kenya with his twins, Jay and Jon, accompanied by his family and friends.

They were seen on their parents’ farm, one standing next to the chickens and the other standing next to the cows.

One year ago today, Sam and I returned home with our precious bundles (Jay and Jon), accompanied by wonderful family and friends who gave their time and resources to help us bring the boys home amidst much ‘noise’, yet surrounded us with so much unconditional love!”

The county leader noted that the past year has been one of great love in his home, and he would not change it for anything.

He thanked his stepchildren and daughter for their support.

“It has been a year of immeasurable happiness, many hugs and kisses and great love in our home. I cannot change it for anything! Our older children, Tiffany, Jesse, Ashley & Abby have been a great blessing for their great love and care for their adorable little brothers. The Lord has been very good to us,” he said.

He also thanked his friends Millicent Omanga, Irene Njoki, Veronica Maina and Rahab Mjami for always being close to him.

“To my girlfriends, Millicent Omanga – Mama Miradi; Mrembo Irene Njoki; Veronica W. Maina and Rahab Mukami, Nyeri county women’s representative, receive your flowers, feel appreciated and always know that I love you to the end. You are my chosen family. Thank you for being with me in many ups and downs. I really wanted to recognize you publicly. May the Lord give you all you need – emotionally, spiritually or physically according to his riches (Philippians 4:19). To Cecily Mbarire, you are special and will be appreciated forever. I am not sure we would have a success story,” he said.

He also thanked the women leaders who supported him on the trip, which was met with strong criticism from fellow politicians and ordinary Kenyans.

“To the women parliamentarians and senators, thank you for standing firm and resisting when the poison of words was about to win. Thank you for believing in me and being a sister-in-law. To my G7 sisters and general secretaries, thank you for your visits and being with us, and feel appreciated. To the many friends who visited us, sent us positive messages, and prayed for us when we were about to be overwhelmed by the situation, I always wanted to say thank you, thank you, thank you!”

She also shared a picture of her husband holding her stomach, which melted the hearts of many on social media.
