“This young man did not even drink alcohol. He injured him very badly. He slept on the street from eight at night until ten in the morning before being taken to the hospital,” said Kamau.

Muendo was later taken to the Kenyatta National Hospital, where he died of internal bleeding.

His sister, Janet Mutheu, said the family stayed at the hospital until late at night when he died.

“He was taken for examination at seven at night, and they said he was bleeding on the brain and needed surgery. I called around five in the morning to ask if he had come out of the operating room, then they said Brian had died,” said the sad woman.

After the incident, the authorities ordered the closure of the club after it was found that Muendo’s incident was not unique.

There have been claims that the club’s security guards have been attacking customers, leaving some of them with serious injuries.

Police say nine suspects linked to the incident have been arrested, while the suspected doorman and club owner are reported to be in hiding and are being sought.

A day before the attack on Muendo, another 29-year-old man identified as Kevin Karanja was reportedly attacked by the doormen, and lost his teeth in the incident.
