The believers of Akorino Israel had attended a thanksgiving service at the White House on Sunday, April 12, following the invitation of the head of state.
How much did Akorino expect to be paid by Ruto?
According to Gachagua, the members approached him seeking permission to attend the event after Ruto promised them KSh 10,000 as payment.
“All those Akorino called the White House are my people. They called me in the morning to inform me that they were called to take something. I gave them permission but I warned them that it should not be less than KSh 10,000 because listening to lies is expensive. How can you listen to lies at a normal price?” he asked while speaking at a service at PEFA Works, Kajiado county.
Gachagua claimed that Akorino was cheated when they arrived at the gate of the State House after being given only KSh 3,000 without lunch or fare.
“When they got there, they were mistreated. At the gate they found envelopes and were warned not to open them. However, in the middle of the session, one of them opened it and sent me a message saying it was only KSh 3,000. He wondered how they could listen to a lie. Lunch was not provided. So if you count the round trip fare including lunch, my Akorino have suffered a loss of KSh 1,200,” he claimed, urging them and the Maasai community to make sure they are paid before boarding the bus if they receive such invitations.
How did Ruto respond to Gachagua’s allegations?
Ruto responded to Gachagua’s allegations against Mt Kenya leaders who are on his side by calling Gachagua a slave trader and a traitor.
“Can anyone ask permission from another to do something? Who is he who says people cannot work without him? Isn’t he a fraud, a deceiver, a slave trader?” Ruto asked.
He said he will work with the area while stressing that the opposition team will fail miserably in the 2027 General Election.
