The President questioned whether the leaders present at the event understood the seriousness of the event.

“Eminent partners, Zaria Group, ladies and gentlemen, looking at the people who came to this event, including the governor of Nairobi, I was wondering if they came on purpose or if they were misled along the way,” Ruto said, drawing the attention of those present.

The President continued to criticize their clothing, saying it did not reflect the seriousness of the event that was going on at the White House.

“The way they dressed, they don’t look like they knew they were coming to the White House. I think next time, I will instruct those at the gate not to allow people dressed like that, especially when they come for important activities like this,” he added.

“Ngujiri, I want to tell you that the way these people are dressed has no indication of the seriousness of this event. We take this event very seriously,” Ruto said.

Among those present were the Minister of Roads and Transport Davis Chirchir, Minister of Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports Salim MvuryaSecretary General of Housing and Urban Development Charles Hinga, and Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers David Ndii.
