The late Douglas Mudambo, who was until his death the Mt. Elgon Sub County Information Officer, will be laid to rest at his home in Sikulu, Tongaren Sub-County, Bungoma County, on Wednesday, April 15, 2026.
The late Mudambo passed on at Webuye Sub-County Referral Hospital at 2 am on Tuesday, April 7, where he had been admitted the previous day after a short illness.
Family sources told KNA at their home that the body will leave a funeral home in Kimilili on Tuesday the 14th for a night vigil at home prior to the burial on the 15th.
A sombre mood engulfed the home today when Mudambo’s colleagues from various media houses in Bungoma County joined his family in mourning him.
The colleagues described him as a team player who was dedicated to his work at the Kenya News Agency Office in Mt. Elgon.
Mt. Elgon Deputy County Commissioner Mr. Nicholas Kijupa also sent his message of condolence to the family.
The late Mudambo is survived by his wife Benedick Kipkarich and five children.
