In the video, a man wearing a black t-shirt and hat is seen punching and kicking the senator who was crawling on the floor while the woman ran from inside the restaurant.

However, Linda Mwananchi’s wing denied claims that the Vihiga senator had another man’s wife at the time of the attack in Kisumu.

Speaking at the Karen Hospital shortly after visiting the senator, who was flown from Kisumu by air ambulance, the leaders disclosed that Osotsi was brutally attacked by a gang of more than 15 people.

Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna revealed that Osotsi was meeting with a staff member of his Senate office when the incident happened at Java restaurant.

According to Sifuna, the Vihiga senator had started a meeting with his female employee when the thugs attacked him in an incident at 6:20 in the afternoon.

“As you know, Senator Osotsi is running for Vihiga governor seat, and he was meeting with his staff to discuss the issues of his county when the attack happened,” said Sifuna.

According to Sifuna, the youths who attacked Osotsi are well known and their sponsors paid some netizens to spread propaganda about the love triangle.

However, Linda Mwananchi’s group blamed what they called a “blog” for trying to push the narrative of a love triangle as a way to cover up a politically motivated attack.

“There are some bloggers who are trying to push the weak story of a love triangle as they do in other high-profile cases. We know who these crooks were and who sent them,” said Kitutu Chache South MP Antoney Kibagendi.

What did Gachagua say about the Osotsi attack?

In other news, the former vice president Rigathi Gachagua issued a strong statement condemning the attack on Osotsi.

In the statement, Gachagua called the incident an act of political violence and lawlessness that has no place in a democratic society.
