Opta’s smartphone has updated its Champions League predictions for the 2025/2026 season following the conclusion of the first quarter-final games.

The four matches produced exciting results throughout the round, but it is still too early to tell who will reach the semi-finals.
Champions League quarter-final results
Arsenal won the last game 1-0 against Sporting Lisbon, putting them in the lead ahead of the second leg at the Emirates.
Record winners Real Madrid they will have to overturn the 2-1 away result when they travel to Munich next week.
Their El Clásico opponents face a similar fate after losing 2-0 to Atletico Madrid at Camp Nou after Pau Cubarsi was sent off in the first half.
The previous game saw defending champions Paris Saint-Germain increase the pressure on Arne Slot, beating them 2-0, but they will have to travel to Anfield next week.
There is general agreement that, apart from Sporting CP at the Emirates, all three other teams at the bottom have the ability to overturn the results next week.
“Of course, we are confident. We did very well with ten players. It was not easy to defend against them, but we had opportunities, and we will have our chances. We are hopeful. We will give everything. We have a chance, and we will do our best,” said Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick through the club’s website.
However, Opta reports show that Arsenal, Bayern MunichAtletico Madrid and PSG will all reach the semi-finals next week.

Who will win the Champions League?
After that, Opta has backed Arsenal to win their first title with a 36.69% chance ahead of Bayern Munich’s 29.11%.
PSG, who could face Bayern Munich in the semi-finals, have only a 16.22% chance of retaining their title. Atletico Madrid have a chance of 6.77%, but their quarter-final opponents, Barcelona, are behind them with 5.21%.

Meanwhile, Arsenal’s win over Sporting CP gave their Premier League rivals a huge boost in next season’s Champions League race.
The win ensured that England will now have five Champions League places next season thanks to performance quotas.
Manchester UnitedAston Villa, Liverpool and Chelsea are all fighting for the remaining three spots, while Arsenal and Manchester City are chasing the Premier League title.
