The incident happened a few minutes after noon at Java House inside the Acacia building, leaving him with serious injuries.

Governor of Siaya, James Orengocondemned the attack, claiming it was politically motivated due to the senator’s stance on the Linda Mwananchi Program.

What happened before the attack on Godfrey Osotsi?

According to the governor, this was the second attack in Kisumu where Osotsi was attacked and attacked by a group of people at the Royal Swiss Hotel while he was holding a press conference.

He claimed that the police had information about the attack and called for an immediate investigation as well as the arrest of three suspects recorded by CCTV cameras.

Orengo said that the senator was drinking coffee at Java House with his friend shortly after shaving his hair.

“It was an unfortunate moment for Osotsi. He was drinking coffee with his friend at Java House. He had just shaved his hair, and suddenly armed youths appeared and attacked them, although they were targeting Osotsi,” he said.

He confirmed that Osotsi suffered many injuries on his face and body.

The county head said the ODM senator was taken to the Agha Khan Hospital in Kisumu before being airlifted to Nairobi for urgent treatment.

“He is badly injured; his face is completely disfigured due to the many injuries he received from the group of thugs who attacked him everywhere. He is very injured; when I got to the hospital, I could not recognize him,” Orengo revealed.

The politician also claimed that the attackers took Osotsi’s personal belongings from his pocket, including mobile phones.

Orengo accused politicians of using a person from Seme, identified as Akoth, to mobilize thugs to attack people with different political views.

He claimed that Akoth was near Java House, and when he recognized Osotsi, he quickly informed the attackers who rushed to carry out the brutal attack.

“It is the same young man who is using it to motivate people to attend political meetings. This is not the best way to make President William Ruto popular. In fact, it is the opposite,” he said.

The governor of Siaya also delivered Osotsi’s message after the attack.

“He says no one can stop him from coming to Kisumu or convince him to change his political views and his vision of Kenya. If anything, he is stronger in his determination to see Kenya become a better country in terms of justice and democracy,” he said.

Was Osotsi involved in the plane crash?

In other news, Senator Osotsi recently survived a helicopter crash when the plane he was on made an emergency landing at Wilson Airport.

Osotsi reported that the plane carrying 39 people from Kisumu made a difficult landing, noting that it bounced violently.
