Sister Helps Police Arrest Her Prisoner Boyfriend Accused of Murder

Kampala, Uganda: Prisoner Moses Anguyo who was accused of murdering four people has been arrested in the city of Aru in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), following important information from his girlfriend and her relatives.

NTV Uganda reports that Anguyo carried out a gruesome shooting attack at Kiboga Prison, killing Assistant Superintendent of Prisons Hope Catherine, the deputy superintendent, and Bright Akshishuri, the third in the prison.

The enraged officer then went to the home of the prison warden, but did not find him, so he took out his anger on the man’s wife, Serah Ayebere, who was at home, and killed her.

A one-year-old child identified as Salso Nuwagaba who was in their home was also shot and died in Kiboga hospital

How did the authorities arrest Ayungo?

After the terrible crime, the young man changed into civilian clothes in the store and disappeared, and that is why the directions given in the investigation led by various media, namely the Police Force Ugandathe Uganda Prison Service and the Uganda People’s Defense Force, was important.

Ayungo was arrested together with his two brothers and his girlfriend, who gave instructions for the arrest, and was returned to Uganda, then transferred to the Kiboga Police Station to face the law.

“The Commissioner General of Prisons commends the joint security operation teams that arrested the suspect of murder Anguyo, and he will be brought to court to answer for his crimes,” said Ugandan Prison Service spokesman Frank Baine.

It has emerged that on February 23, 2026, a prison guard opened fire on his bosses after being warned about his use of WhatsApp during working hours.

Ugandan agencies have been searching for Anguyo for three weeks, and at one point, a reward of KSh 346,000 was placed for anyone who would provide useful information.

In a previous story, prison officer Cop Shakur was in the dock at the Mountain Law Court following his arrest for allegedly publishing misleading information about kidnappings that were rampant in the country.

According to the bodyguard’s alleged post, he implicated a certain cabinet secretary in the kidnapping and accused him of being a dictator.

Arriving before Magistrate Lucas Onyina, Cop Shakur denied the charges and his lawyer, James Ongamo, asked for his release with reduced bail conditions.
