He had no land, house or anything that he could call his own.

At the same time, Maulid also gave young people advice on how to deal with women in their lives or in marriage, adding that they should not be like him who left after a small argument.

After his story spread, the old man’s children finally reached him and started communicating with him by phone.

“They said life has been good, they have built a house for their beloved mother and own property including cars, they promised to come see her but later changed their minds and said that their mother has refused,” said Binti Kigoma.

In his last days, Maulid was under the care of a trusted neighbor, who fed him and helped him clean the house.

When he died, he called his relatives, but they did not come, and then they met as a community and buried the old man.
