Is the Nairobi Dam in danger of vomiting?

In a related development, the Water Resources Authority (WRA) issued an urgent warning to residents living below the Nairobi Dam about the imminent risk of flooding.

In a notice, WRA coordinator for the Nairobi sub-region, Noel Ndeti, mentioned the increase in water levels that could break the dam embankment due to the heavy rain that continues to fall.

Ndeti said the part of the dam’s earthen barrier located in the Kibera area along the Ngong River, about 5 kilometers south-west of the CBD, is at risk of being washed away due to the continuous rains.
