On the day of the attempted robbery, the group arrived at the target location in a black Toyota Harrier, with a Toyota Ractis parked nearby with the driver waiting.

A woman got out of the Harrier and approached the main gate, pretending to find a way in. Unbeknownst to them, the guards had already secured the area.

Officers quickly moved in, arresting the woman on the spot before emergency teams seized both vehicles, leading to the arrest of five other suspects.

Who were the suspects arrested during the failed robbery?

Those arrested include Charles Kiio Matata, sergeant of KDF who lives in Kahawa Garrison, David Ng’aa Mwangangi, a civil engineer working in Kahawa Garrison, and Samuel Agango Odoyo, a KDF officer who is currently being held.

Others are Alex Mumo Kisilu from Umoja, Richard Mwania Muasya from Tala, and Stella Nzuki Mweni from Umoja Inner Core.

A search of the scene revealed items believed to have been prepared for the robbery, among them KDF guerrilla uniforms, military boots, a spear, a nail hammer, a knife, a pair of pliers, and several mobile phones.
