A video circulating on social media captured the moment a bodaboda rider was swept away by floods in Elgeyo Marakwet.

The clip shows a heavily flooded road flowing down what appears to be a steep slope.
Despite other residents standing and waiting on both sides of the road, the man seemed to believe he would be able to cross.
He turned on the lights of his motorcycle and began a dangerous journey across the flooded road, then stopped in the middle.
Did the bodaboda rider survive the flood waters?
Overpowered by the strong current, he was forced to stop as the water knocked him off the bike.

Residents standing on the side of the road watched in disbelief as the incident unfolded. “Look at this man, wait, he is not there, my God!
He is swept away, I see the bike, but where is he? Why would he try to cross this place when he sees all of us standing here?” the voices in the background could be heard saying.
It was not immediately known at the time of reporting whether he survived the incident or perished in the flood waters.
The video shared on Instagram it left netizens asking questions and discussing how often people risk their lives due to impatience.

Bodaboda survives being hit by a trailer
Previously, TUKO.co.ke reported that a wave of relief spread on social media after it was revealed that Ian Githinji, a bodaboda driver survived the fatal accident.
Githinji, who was seen in the video of the accident on the highway of Thikahad been missing for two days and was identified by his jacket in the photo.
He suffered several injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment. The accident caused many people to call for road safety measures for drivers.
