Lighthouse Ministers Nairobi has fired the main suspect, Mary Clare’s ex-boyfriend from the singing group following the brutal attack on him.

Clare, the pastor’s daughter, was attacked with acid while returning home about a week ago by a suspect allegedly hired by her estranged boyfriend.

The attack left Clare with serious injuries to her face and hands, and she remains in the Kenyatta National Hospital in a critical condition.

“It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that the staff of Lighthouse Nairobi extend their deepest condolences to Ms. Mary Claire following a recent incident that has caused her great pain. Our thoughts and prayers are with her, and we sincerely ask for God’s healing, strength, and comfort to surround her during this difficult time,” the choir said in a statement issued on Monday, March 2:23.

Why did The Lighthouse Ministers fire the suspect in the Clare attack?

The choir admitted to knowing the main suspect and distanced itself from the attack, saying that ‘the conduct is completely against the values, teachings, and beliefs we hold.’

“We would like to say unequivocally that The Lighthouse Ministers do not agree with and are not involved in this act. The dignity and sanctity of human life is sacred, and we unite in condemning any act that undermines them,” the choir said.

Following the incident, The Lighthouse Ministers said they took precautionary measures to allow an investigation, and stressed that their action does not imply guilt.

“The relevant member has been suspended immediately from all activities of the ministry, pending the results of the ongoing investigation and any legal procedures,” it added.
