Elieshi Ndetaulwa expressed his dismay after his partner brought another woman to their home while they were still together.
She told how her boyfriend of nine years came home with the woman without her knowledge, which surprised her when she found out they were having an affair.
“I am born in Singisi, Arumeru District, Arusha Region in Tanzania. I have lived with this man for about nine years, and we have been blessed with three children. He built a house for the children. After a while, he brought another woman into the house.
The house had only one room with one bed. We were all in the same house, the same room, and sometimes we even shared the same bed. Later he changed and started telling me to leave,” he said.
Ndetaulwa claims he suffered abuse
Ndetaulwa recalled the day his wife arrived home with the woman, saying they arrived in a car with the woman’s luggage which they brought into the house. He added that the woman works in the tourism industry.
“I asked him who it was, and he replied, ‘Who do you think it is?’ Later they went to visit my mother-in-law, and when they came back they went straight to bed. I slept in another room with my three children, while he and the woman slept in the room I was sleeping with before,” said Ndetaulwa.
She went on to claim that she and her children began to experience abuse, saying that her husband forced the new woman to cook and ordered the children to eat the food she prepared only for him.
Ndetaulwa said that whenever the children made mistakes, the woman used to complain harshly to their father, confident of the authority she had been given.
Ndetaulwa was threatened?
“He threatened me. There was a time when I closed the door after my husband left, not knowing that the woman was coming back. When she returned, she asked, ‘Who are you to close this door? Do you know whose house this is?’ I told him I didn’t know he was coming back. He warned me that if I continue to offend him, he will harm me,” said Ndetaulwa, adding that his wife recognized the woman as his wife.
Ndetaulwa, who admitted that she was not legally married to the man, said the situation has also affected their children, who have been out of school for some time due to a family dispute.
He claimed that children are suffering from lack of food and difficulty in adapting to a new environment, which has greatly disrupted their lives.
“He said he has known the woman for a long time, even before I came into his life, that’s why he decided to bring her home. He claimed he was just following traditions and customs,” he added.

A Nairobi man having an affair with his son’s teacher
In another incident, a Nairobi woman was heartbroken after discovering that her husband had an affair with their son’s teacher.
The woman said she found WhatsApp messages between her husband and the teacher, which hurt her a lot.
Later she had to transfer her son to a boarding school to break the relationship between her husband and the teacher.
