A family trip that started before dawn ended in tragedy on Monday morning, after a fatal accident on the Kampala-Entebbe Highway claimed the lives of a Masaka City businessman and his two children.

According to Daily Monitor, Bosco Senyonjo, popularly known as Bosco Bitanda, was traveling with his family members when their Toyota Land Cruiser was involved in a fatal accident at about 6:30 am.
Authorities differ about Bosco’s death
What would have been an ordinary car turned into a landscape of twisted metal and broken lives, leaving relatives and friends struggling to come to terms with the loss.

Authorities have given different explanations as to what may have caused the accident, which happened near the Mpala-Kajjansi interchange.
Highway managers suggested that fatigue may have played a role, suggesting that the driver may have fallen asleep after the long journey.
In a statement, they noted that the car went out, causing death which caused the death of three people on the spot, while one survivor was rushed to a nearby hospital.

However, the traffic police said that speeding is the possible cause. According to SP spokesperson Michael Kananura, Bosco lost control of the vehicle.
He says that the car hit the base of a street light pole first before hitting the street pole and overturning several times.
The series of violence left three passengers, including Bosco, dead on the spot, while two others sustained serious injuries.
Emergency crews arrived quickly, working to secure the scene and control the early morning traffic that had begun to build along the highway.

Where was Bosco’s body taken?
The injured were initially taken to a Class B Hospital for first aid before being sent for further treatment, giving faint hope during the tragedy.
Meanwhile, the bodies of the deceased were transferred to the City Hospital for post-mortem examination, while investigations into the exact cause of the accident are ongoing.

Bosco’s death comes after another accident that took the life of a man and his wife
Gustavo Rides, a famous Nairobi motorcyclist, died along with his wife in a fatal motorcycle accident on the Northern Bypass on Sunday, March 15.
Earlier that morning, Gustavo had posted a happy message on social media showing that he was alive and kicking, but he died nine hours later.
