Nairobi – The Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) has asked for the help of Kenyans to arrest the main suspect in the murder.

In a statement issued on Monday, March 16, DCI said the suspect is linked to the murder of a 28-year-old woman in Kirinyaga county.
Is the Kirinyaga murder suspect armed and dangerous?
According to the DCI, the suspect, who is considered armed and dangerous, hails from Ngushui village, in Murinduko area, Mwea constituency.
“Wanted person. The Directorate of Criminal Investigation is urgently requesting the public’s assistance to arrest a suspect who is wanted in connection with serious offenses of sexual violence and murder. The suspect is alleged to have assaulted and killed a 28-year-old woman on March 12, 2026 at an unknown time within Kirinyaga County. He is from Ngushui Village, Murinduko Area, Mwea State, Kirinyaga County and has not yet been arrested. He is considered armed and dangerous,” the DCI said.
How can Kenyans report about the Kirinyaga murder suspect?
The DCI shared a photo of the suspect, saying anyone who recognizes him or has information about his whereabouts should report it to the nearest police station.
According to the DCI, timely and confidential information about the wanted suspect will help in providing justice to the suspect.
“Anyone who sees the suspect or has information about his whereabouts is asked to report it immediately and in strict confidence. Information can be shared anonymously through #DiscloseKwaDCI channels by calling the freephone on 0800 722 203 or via WhatsApp on 0709 570 000. Alternatively, contact can be made at the nearest Directorate of Criminal Investigation office or the nearest Police station. Timely and confidential information will help very much in providing justice to the victim and protecting the community,” the statement said.
