Rising content creator Sky Victor has opened up about how he has been coping with life after the death of his gospel singer mother Betty Bayo.

Betty passed away in November 2025, plunging her family and fans into deep mourning.
He was well respected in the gospel music industry, especially for popular songs such as 11th Hour and Siyabonga.
According to her family, Betty died from complications related to acute myeloid leukemia, a condition she had been diagnosed with a few weeks before her death.
At the time of his death, Sky touched many Kenyans after pictures emerged online showing him arriving to see his mother’s body.
How does Sky cope with the death of his mother?
During the recent episode of TikTok Live, Sky shared that he has been finding comfort in listening to his mother’s gospel songs since her death.
He explained that he has grown to like the songs even more, despite not having all the words memorized.
Sky noted that most of the songs are in Kikuyu and Kiswahili but he said he still enjoys listening to them especially because he likes Gospel music.
“I have always loved my mother’s songs, every one of them. I have not memorized them because she had them in Kikuyu and Kiswahili, but I love them. I really like gospel songs,” he explained and noted that he also listens to gospel singer Size 8.
The young content producer had previously spoken about the close relationship he shared with his mother.
According to Sky, Betty supported his passions, including dancing and creating online content, and was often the brains behind many of his adventures.
Sky admitted that at the time she felt like her mother was pushing her too hard. However, he now realizes that Betty simply believed in his abilities and knew he could achieve more.
As a way to keep his mother’s memory alive, Sky said he continues to listen to Betty’s songs.

Did Sky Victor talk about Kanyari and Tash?
Earlier, Sky spoke about an online debate involving his biological father, Kanyari, and his stepfather, Tash.
Before her mother’s death, Sky was living with her mother and younger brother at Edenville Estate as a family with Tash.
This happened after his mother separated from Kanyari following the KSh 310 scandal.

After Betty’s death, online debates raged, with many questioning who between Kanyari and Tash would raise the children and who Sky loved more.
In response, Sky clarified that he loved both of them and was not partial.
He also asked the public to stop spreading rumors or attacking any of them, asking for privacy and mutual understanding as they are all mourning Betty.
