On Saturday, March 14, Tuju was evicted from the property, and was seen walking around the area, looking confused and trying to enter the building.
At that time, Tuju claimed that a powerful person in the government was behind the threats and a plot to seize his main property of Karen; he also said that the police raid and stalled debt negotiations with the East African Development Bank were part of a wider plan to harass him.
Despite a lot of pressure, Tuju insisted that he is ready to pay his debts and fight to the end to protect his precious property.
What was the Attic Worship?
In a video shared by Citizen TV, the service, which was made up of only men, was subdued, with no loud music or loud speakers showing outdoor Christian services.
Instead of a loud voice, a man with a guitar led a small group of men in prayer against what was happening in their workplace.
The ritual drew mixed reactions from netizens, with some wondering what it hopes to achieve, while others understand that in such times, some people seek God’s intervention.
“It is really a great and honorable thing to worship God even in dark times, believing that the storm will pass because God is in control. Just like in the story where God used his servant to help a widow who was about to lose everything, he brought restoration and hope. This reminds us that even in the most difficult times, God has the power to restore and provide,” said one woman identified after watching.
The opinion of Kenyans about the ritual
Mamakeh Vanessah: “Ruto is wondering what country I am ruling that is full of afro movies…but the biggest thing is we know how to support.”
Truphosa Ochuka: “Where are the women? Or was it the company of men.”
Francesco Zola: “How do they do this…you get kicked out of your place.”
Atwech Nyamama: “But Tuju says he is and has been ready to pay. However, stories and narratives keep changing from the bank’s side.”
Ngekenya Robert: Micah 7:8 “Do not be happy for me, my enemy. When I fall, I will stand up, when I sat in darkness, the Lord will be my light. The mark of the righteous is not the absence of war but the grace to always rise.”
Ogero Manoti Paul: “That guitarist has been there for a long time, he played for me when I was marrying my wife 8 years ago.”
Barrack Barryson: “In Kenya, everything happens for a reason. In fact, nothing is impossible in Kenya. They do everything, from comedy, attention, politics to throwing stones at the windshield of a PSV car. Kenya never gives up.”
