Nine hours later, he died along the Northern Bypass Road after a fatal road accident that also claimed the life of his wife, turning what started as a normal day into a huge loss for the Kenyan motorcycling community.

Dennis Bosire, a cyclist and friend, was among the first to write a sad post on Facebook after learning of the accident.

Writing through visible shock and grief, she said she could not understand how a message so full of life had become Gustavo’s last words to the world.

He remembered the message his friend had shared earlier that morning. Hours later, news began to spread online that the motorcyclist had died.

“Hai kabisaa” the motorcyclist had written, a message that has since meant a lot to friends who followed his life and ride online.

This was not the first time Gustavo wrote a mystical post, as he wrote another one in 2025, indicating that he had seen it all and was ready to die peacefully in his sleep.

At first, Bosire didn’t realize it was his friend who was grieving online, so he commented because Sunday trips are busy and accidents sometimes happen.

But as more posts appeared on motorcyclists’ pages and friends began to share their condolences, panic set in. Soon, the worst news was confirmed.

According to Bosire, Gustavo was driving with his wife when the accident happened.

Although he initially survived the accident and fought for his life, he died shortly afterwards. “Love decided not to be separated,” he wrote bitterly. “For pleasure and disgust.”

The tragedy has shaken members of the tight-knit motorcycle community, where Gustavo was well known for his warmth, encouragement and passion for motorcycles.

“He was the kind of person who would encourage you and tell you that nothing is impossible,” Bosire said. “We talked about racing, about being on the track together. That was our vibe.”

Bosire and Gustavo met for the first time in person during the Sleek Superbike Series in 2025 after having previously interacted online.

Gustavo had arrived riding a big black GSXR 1000, and the two spent some time discussing motorcycles, racing strategies and equipment to order another machine.

“I honestly didn’t know that would be our last meeting,” he wrote, adding that the memory now feels painfully final.

Beyond personal loss, the accident has raised concerns among riders about safety along the Northern Bypass, which some motorcyclists describe as unpredictable and dangerous.

Bosire said he had previously warned about the dangers of driving on the road at several stations, not thinking that one day he would mourn a lost friend there.

“It’s scary going up that path,” he wrote.

As condolences continue to pour in online, fellow riders have remembered Gustavo not only for his love of speed and machines but also the spirit he brought to the community.

For many, the most poignant detail remains the simplicity of his last words, a message that captured life in its ordinary way, posted just hours before everything changed.

By evening, the community was in mourning, remembering the motorcyclist whose journey ended too soon, as well as the woman who chose to ride the road of life with him.
