How the tension started during the funeral
Witnesses say the conflict escalated during the funeral service, forcing organizers to suspend the program for a while as both sides argued over who should officiate the last rites.
Despite the fact that the PAG church reportedly managed the entire funeral budget, the situation took another turn after the family prevented the leaders of the church from conducting the burial.
In a move that surprised many mourners, the burial plan was suddenly handed over to a bishop from the Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK), who eventually led the last rites.
The decision created more tension among mourners, many of whom questioned how a long-serving PAG pastor should be buried by a completely different denomination.
