People on the internet expressed concern after the two were seen in the Kibera Kianda area, taking turns selling milk on the side of the road at night while it was raining heavily.
The video clip showed five five-liter drums of raw milk lined up on the side of the road, with measuring cups placed on top of them.
Four boxes were still full, while one was almost empty, indicating that a portion of it had already been sold.
How did the Kibera brothers exchange milk?
With four more drums waiting to be sold, the brothers took it in turns to stand in the open rain, without shelter, to ensure that no customer passed by without being seen.
Once when he was standing in the rain, his partner took shelter in a nearby shop, exchanging positions as needed.
Despite the bad weather, the brothers seemed determined and hopeful to sell all the milk before returning home.
They coordinated quickly and skillfully, protecting the milk as if they had been doing this job for a long time, almost every day.
The older one, who was wearing a skirt and jacket, held a bag, while the younger one was wearing a jacket with a hood covering his head and hair to protect himself from the rain.
Next to them, the woman who was running the stall selling vegetables looked like she was used to seeing the brothers selling milk in that way, and she did not make any attempt to intervene.
When the video went viral on the internet, Kenyans expressed sympathy for the sisters and asked local residents to help them.
“Please help them raise these sisters; this looks like raw milk straight from the cow. If they take it home, it will most likely freeze or they will have to drink it. This is a big challenge,” said Ondivow Photography, who shared the video.
Netizens show sympathy for the Kibera brothers
Netizens suggested solutions and asked for help, showing the difficult situation many young people face trying to earn a living.
Achola Daniel: “I think this situation can be solved if possible. What if the milk owner would cooperate with the woman who runs the vegetable stall behind them and reach an agreement that will benefit them all?”
Hon Shaaban Juma: “May God make things easier for them and their families. In shaa Allah, Ameen thuma Ameen.”
Brothers Fc Kibera:Get rid of where they sell and where they live. They live up in Soweto by Mlima and Nimasai.”
Peter Kamande:Meanwhile, some people are celebrating the demolition of the sheds… people are suffering, sir. Whether you voted for the current government or not, life is difficult, and we cannot solve problems by starting from the bottom.”
