Maureen Nyambura Gathungu left home on the morning of Friday, March 6, without informing anyone of her plans to sell in Nairobi.
Since then, his family has not received any information regarding his whereabouts despite leaving behind a six-month-old son.
How did Maureen Nyambura disappear?
Speaking to TUKO.co.keNyambura’s mother, Mary Njeri, said her daughter has not been available since she left home.
“He went to deliver clothes to Nairobi but he didn’t tell me about his sister, his close friends or me when he left, only two brothers and he is the last born. I think he didn’t tell us because he knew we would oppose his decision because we were busy. Usually he would alert us as soon as he got to where he went, but this time he never did that. We called him by phone after a few hours,” Njema said.
Njeri revealed that Nyambura’s disappearance has caused them a lot of pain due to the bond that mother and child had.
The infant’s frequent cries increase the risk, forcing the grieving family to worry more and feed him cow’s milk.
“She used to breastfeed, but now it’s difficult. The child cries a lot, and it seems that she is traumatized. She cries even without being provoked. My daughter loved the child very much, and that’s why we are worried. Their love started when she was pregnant, she loved everything about it and even said she would never have an abortion even if her boyfriend was not there. She gave birth at the age of 23,” Njeri explained.
Was Maureen Nyambura selling to online customers?
Before his disappearance, Nyambura had informed his family about the people he intended to sell to after talking to them on social media.
“We warned him, but he refused, and that’s how his lifestyle changed. He can change his phone and hairstyle and then he lied to us,” he recalled emotionally.
Nyambura has been in the clothing business for almost three months. He previously sold Ruiru, Limuru, Kwa Maiko, and Githiga, always returning home safely after a successful sale.
The matter has been reported at the Githunguri Police Station while the family is seeking help to find out his whereabouts. If you have any information that may help, please contact his mother at no +254 710 832 174 or report to any police station.
“I am in a lot of pain. I would like to see Nyambura’s child grow up in his comfort like me. Seeing that child crying does not give us peace. Anyone who knows where he is just alert us, I pray for the child,” urged Njeri.
