Johanna Ng’eno’s widow burst into tears looking at her husband’s body

Members of AGC Karen participated in a night service for the fallen member of parliament and lit candles in his honor while singing mourning songs.

Photos of the MP’s widow being held to look at her husband’s body in the coffin touched many on social media.

She wore all black, which is a long-standing tradition to mark respect and mourning.

It is a non-verbal sign of loss and grief. One of those who were crying held a handkerchief over his eyes.

He and other relatives arrived at Lee Funeral before the service.

What happened to Ng’eno?

Ng’eno was a member of parliament who spoke about issues openly and was often controversial, being elected for his third term in 2013.

Emurua MP Dikirr died in a helicopter crash on February 28.

All six people in the helicopter died. The victims who were inside are:

  • Genoese
  • George Were (pilot)
  • Amos Kipngetich Rotich (Kenya Forest Service officer)
  • Nick Kosgey (personal photographer)
  • Wycliffe Kiprotich Rono (protocol officer)
  • Robert Kipkoech Keter (teacher)

The AGC Karen service will honor all six victims of the accident.

Social media is returning to his wife Ng’eno.

Here’s what they said:

Sec Regen Kip: “Nayianoi Ntutu, wife of the late Honorable Johana Ng’eno Ngong and extended family together with Hon Joseph Cherorot and other leaders are currently looking at the bodies of our lost heroes. Mutyo Konyon.”

France Cisca: “Mutyo wee sister Ngwan, even if you are told it will be well, you just know it will not be well since he will never come back forever 😭.”

He also kissed his wife in the cute video, which went viral after news of the helicopter crash.

Kenyans sympathized with the young widow and shared messages of condolence online.
