The nation continues to mourn the Member of Parliament for Emurua Dikirr, Johana Ng’eno, who died in a helicopter crash.

Ng’eno and five other people, including his personal photographer, died in the accident that happened at 4pm on February 28 in Chepkiep, Mosop, Nandi County.
Many, including leaders led by the President William Rutothey mourned the leader of the Kipsigis community naming him as a visionary leader and a dedicated servant to the people.
Was Ng’eno married?
Yes. The 54-year-old MP was married to one wife, Nayianoi Ntutu. Nayianoi comes from the famous Ntutu family.

The MP married Nayianoi in a lavish wedding held on August 18, 2018, at Emurua Dikirr Secondary School, Narok County.
President William Ruto and Raila Odinga were among those present. Kapsiret Member of Parliament, Oscar Sudi, was one of the wedding officiants.
The two had been married for eight years at the time of the politician’s death.
How many children did Ng’eno have?
Ng’eno and his wife were blessed with two beautiful daughters.
The late Member of Parliament loved his children very much and always made time for them despite his busy schedule.
Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, journalist and aspiring politician Stephen Letoo, who was a close friend of Ng’eno, described him as a family man.

Letoo said Ng’eno was a devoted father, and his children have lost a great father.
The photo of their first daughter, Cheboron, signing the condolence book without understanding what happened, touched many Kenyans and brought them to tears.
The profession of Johana Ng’eno and his wife
Apart from politics, Ng’eno was a lawyer. In September 2025, he was officially admitted to the Bar Association as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya.
His wife is also an academic and a lawyer by profession.

Before being elected for the first time as Member of Parliament for Emurua Dikirr in 2013, Ng’eno served as a Director in the Agricultural Development Corporation (ADC) from 2008 to 2012.
At the time of his death, he was serving his third term as Member of Parliament for Emurua Dikirr and was the chairman of the National Assembly’s Housing Committee.
Was Ng’eno a loving husband?
Ng’eno and Nayianoi were seen as an example of a couple for the eight years they were together and attracted many with their relationship.
The two traveled to various countries in Africa and Asia, and the account of Instagram of Nayianoi is full of pictures of their travels.
They always celebrated birthdays and wedding anniversaries without fail.
Six days before his death, Ng’eno posted a happy video of his family during his wife’s birthday celebration on February 22. In the video, the family was seen happily cutting a cake.

The MP congratulated his wife with a message of love wishing her a long life. He attached the video to the love song “Chaguo la Moyo” by Otile Brown and Sanaipei.
Ng’eno and Nayianoi: A celebrity couple
Ng’eno and his wife collaborated in various projects in the Emurua Dikirr area, including planting trees, empowering girls, and giving aid to schools and churches.
Through Nayianoi’s Instagram account, the couple used to receive politicians at their Emurua Dikirr home from time to time. From President William Ruto to Rift Valley MPs, they were welcoming guests and spending time together.

Once, Nayianoi wrote after inviting the President to their home for lunch.
On another occasion, the family invited several local leaders to their home for lunch.
When will Ng’eno be buried?
Ng’eno’s memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 4, at the Baptist Church, Nairobi County. His body will then be transported to his home in Emurua Dikirr on Thursday, March 5, where he will lie overnight before burial.
