The remains of Emurua Member of Parliament Dikirr Johanna Ngeno have been moved to Nairobi for safekeeping at the Lee Funeral Home before her final burial.

The Member of Parliament lost his life after the helicopter he was traveling in, along with five other people, crashed and caught fire in Chepkiep forest, Mosop, Nandi County.
Ngeno was in the Mara River area to assess the effects of the floods that have caused damage in the region.
The news of his sudden death plunged his young family and the nation into deep mourning. While many continue to talk about the tragedy, others have revisited his past speeches, reflecting on his words about life and death.

What did Johanna Ngeno say about death?
In a 2020 interview on HOT 96 FM, Ngeno spoke openly about death and how he viewed it. At that time, he was addressing an incident in which he was allegedly arrested and taken to the forest, where according to him, the kidnappers could easily kill him.
Speaking confidently during the interview, the politician said that he is not afraid of death, emphasizing the legacy he believes he would leave.
“I told them, ‘If I die, if you kill me, I will be remembered for more than 200 years,'” he said confidently.
Although the remarks were made in different circumstances, many Kenyans have referred to them in their tributes following his death.
The third term member of parliament recommended himself to voters through his leadership style. At the time of his death, there were claims that he could be eyeing the highest political seat.
