According to officials from Directorate of Criminal Investigationsthe suspect is believed to have persuaded the woman to meet for the purpose of reconciliation.

County Criminal Investigation Officer Bomet Emmanuel Ogao confirmed the sad incident, revealing that preliminary investigation shows that the officer contacted his estranged wife and persuaded her to attend the meeting under the pretext of resolving their marital differences.
The police also revealed that after carrying out the brutal act, the officer allegedly contacted some of his relatives and informed them about what happened.
The communication to the woman’s relatives raised alarm, prompting them to report to the police, who launched an investigation.
How did the police find the woman who was killed in Bomet?
Officers rushed to the hotel following the information and found the woman’s body lifeless at the scene.
Investigators identified the deceased as a Junior Secondary School (JSS) teacher from Olenguruone in the county of Nakuru.
According to previous reports, he was living with his parents in Bomet after leaving his matrimonial home.
Family members described the relationship as turbulent, saying he left due to frequent family conflicts.
Crime scene investigators recorded the hotel room where the incident occurred and collected evidence as part of the investigation.
The body was later moved to Mochari Ya Longisa Hospital for safekeeping and an autopsy, while efforts to find the suspect continue.
