Jacque once revealed that her father battled cancer for a long time before he died.
How did Jacque Maribe remember his father’s birthday?
More than a month after burying him, the grieving writer entered the Instagram to celebrate what would have been his father’s 72nd birthday.
She shared a photo of herself placing a wreath on her father’s grave during the funeral, reflecting on how this year is different from last year.
Jacque recalled how she and her cousins threw a surprise party for her father on his 71st birthday, expressing how genuinely happy he was.
“You were truly happy at a time like this last year, surrounded by your many children. This year, all I have left are memories. I celebrate you with all my heart. Happy birthday in heaven,” he wrote.
Jacque explained that he will continue to honor and continue his father’s legacy, especially since he gave his son his name.
“I’m glad I named my son Maribe. Your legacy lives on. My son may draw strength from me, but the truth is, he’s the one who keeps me strong now. You were his number one fan, and so are you. Play with the angels on our behalf, Father,” he added.
The broadcaster who was moved by grief also shared a touching photo of his late father walking alongside his grandson, which saddened and touched his followers.
