Her husband Nassary left her early after the birth of their third child, who, unlike their first two children, was born with a disability.
The mother of three told how her husband told her that he was going to look for money, but he never came back.
“We were told that the child needs to undergo a CT scan and MRI, which cost KSh 28,000. He was given a number to use the money. He left without informing me. Later I called him, and he said he had gone to look for money. We stayed in the hospital for five days without hearing anything from him or seeing him. I called him again, he said the same thing, that he was looking for money.
I had to call my family in the second week and tell them what happened. They organized a fundraiser, got a certain amount of money, and used that amount for some things,” he explained.
How much money did Nassary need for his son’s surgery?
Later, Nassary was informed that his son needs another surgery which costs KSh 75,000, where half of that amount was needed earlier.
She continued to contact her husband, hoping for a solution, but nothing changed.
“My neighbors called me and told me that they hadn’t seen him for a while. I called him, and he said he had gone to Mbeya to look for money. His hometown is Mbeya, so I didn’t suspect anything. Later, I collected the money and took my son back to the hospital,” he added.
Nassary meets her husband’s new girlfriend
Nassary stayed in the hospital with his son for a month before he was allowed to return home.
When he got home, he found the house empty. Her husband had removed his clothes and everything else he had when he went to the hospital with their son.
“He removed his clothes and everything that was in the house. I heard that he had gone to Dar es Salaam. I was told he was living with another woman. I went to the workplace. He showed up with another woman. I confronted him, and he said painful words, that in their family, there are no children with disabilities. I had nothing to do. I left with my child,” he cried.
