Peter Salasya Strongly Slams Senator Onyonka For Sending Him A Warning, Aanika His Houses

Mumias East MP Peter Salasya confronted Kisii senator Richard Onyonka after the senator allegedly sent him a private message warning him about his political conduct.

Salasya, who is known for his combative political style and frequent communication on social media, shared a screenshot of the alleged SMS from Onyonka, thus laying the groundwork for a new spat in public.

What caused the enmity between Salasya and Onyonka?

At the center of their battle is Salasya’s recent remarks, where he claimed that the divisions rocking ODM are deliberate and financed to distract Kenyans from national issues.

According to a message attributed to Onyonka and shared by Salasya, the senator countered the allegations, warning that such sentiments could harm the young lawmaker’s political future.

“My message in Malava today has become clear that ODM is funded by the FACTION of ODM A and ODM B to continue confusing Kenyans to avoid Kenyans discussing the bad health system, the sale of Safaricom, the sale of KPC and issues that concern Kenyans directly, but instead focus on who will take what in the inheritance of the wealth of the ODM party. We must stop this nonsense of ODM,” he read the message on Salatribu.

The Kisii Member of Parliament allegedly followed a note of caution, telling Salasya that his remarks risked ruining his political career.

“Bro why do you want to ruin your good work!” Onyonka is alleged to have said.

But Salasya did not take the warning lightly, questioning the authority with which Onyonka was warning him.

“Do you have the power to destroy it,” he answered the question

What does Salasya think about Linda Mwananchi?

Salasya linked the current movement to past political experiments, reminding Onyonka that some of those now associated with the Nairobi senatorial group Edwin Sifuna they were previously part of One Kenya.

One Kenya had emerged by the end of 2025 as the so-called third force in Kenyan politics, bringing together youth leaders who positioned themselves as an alternative to established political parties.

However, the program did not gain the desired national traction and the conflicting message saw it slowly fade away.

In his latest salvo, Salasya dismissed Linda Mwananchi’s latest movement, calling it pointless.

He questioned its structure, leadership and financial support, contrasting it with his declared ambitions.

The Member of Parliament for Mumias East, who previously announced his intention to run for the presidency, maintains that his national tours are part of a broader strategy to build grassroots support before 2027.

“Onyonka, just leave me up there, I’m a mountain, you did Kenya Moja failed terribly, then you have started linda mwananchi movement who are you to come in my inbox to threaten me politically? You guys are for jokes I’ve walked all over Kenya and very soon I’m starting it again. First Onyonka who is the presidential candidate in your movement and who is oiling your movement I am the team leader and presidential candidate you guys don’t know what you want,” Salasya he dug him.
