The government has said it is looking for a Russian citizen who allegedly stalked Kenyan women, had sex with them and posted their videos on his social media pages.
Gender Minister Hanna Wendot urged the victims of the case to seek advice and legal assistance through the 1195 telephone number.
The case of the Russian citizen emerged a few days ago when several videos circulated online showing the man stopping different women and inviting them to his room where it is believed he recorded them having sex and took them to unknown people to gain fame or pay.
Reports say that it is not only Kenya where the man has committed such acts.
Citizens of Ghana and Nigeria they have also been heard on the internet complaining that the person did that in their country.
“This is a serious crime of sexual violence using violence technology. As a government, we take it very seriously and will use all means to get justice,” said Wendot in a statement on Monday, February 16.
Se added that the government is using international cooperation including organizations that protect women and children to ensure that the suspect accused of violating the Computer Misuse and Internet Offenses Act is brought to court.
“In addition, the ministry will focus on internet security and digital abuse policies to protect women and children from physical and online violence,” added the statement.
