Member of Parliament of the East African Parliament (EALA) Winnie Odinga has published a cryptic message as tensions rise within the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), with internal conflicts continuing between splinter groups.

The divisions deepened after Oburu Oginga assumed leadership of the party on October 15, 2025, following the death of the ODM leader. Raila Odinga.
Since then, two factions have emerged within the party.
Winnie Odinga vs Oburu Oginga
One wing, which includes Oburu, Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga, Member of Parliament for Suna East Junet Mohammedand the Governor of Mombasa Abdulswamad Nassir, supports a comprehensive government initiative that has seen ODM collaborating with the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) to support the administration of President William Ruto.
The opposing camp led by ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna, Governor of Siaya James Orengo and Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino opposes the collaboration and insists that the party should remain strong in opposition before the next general election.
Winnie has publicly aligned herself with the opposition wing of President Ruto’s government, a position that has put her at loggerheads with her uncle Oburu.
He showed his solidarity with Sifuna by attending his press conference on February 13, where he addressed what he called his illegal dismissal by the party wing led by Oburu.
Winnie Odinga predicts disappointment
As the local competition heats up, Winnie took to Facebook with a cryptic post.
He shared a picture of a Bible verse he was reading in the Kiluo Bible, emphasizing the passage that emphasized greed and the dangers of loving money.
Scripture, 1 Timothy 6:10, says:
Because the love of money is the source of all evil. Some people have been so eager to get money that they have wandered away from the faith, and they have broken their hearts with many sorrows.

How did Oburu Oginga’s allies advise Winnie Odinga?
As previously reported, Oburu’s allies asked Winnie to reconsider her loyalty to Sifuna.
In a heartfelt appeal, Ruaraka MP TJ Kajwang’ urged Winnie to support her uncle Oburu, citing it as protecting Raila’s legacy.
The MP accused the unnamed camp of lying to Odinga, adding that they will protect him.
“In my humility, I want to ask Winnie Odinga, please, you are our child and we will protect you baby, we will protect you, please wake up, wake up, wake up, leave the beauty, the legacy Raila gave you, don’t spoil it in your hands because a few elders are cheating you. Please don’t do that. We are here to protect you, but we will go anywhere. Woman, get out,” TJ Kajwang’ said.
