Junet Mohamed Warns Oketch Salah Against Printing ODM T-Shirts With Ruto’s Image

Mombasa – Member of Parliament for Suna East Junet Mohamed has given a strong warning to businessman Oketch Salah.

On Sunday, February 15, Salah, who declared himself to be the son of the late former prime minister Raila Odingais among the leaders who addressed the ODM meeting in the Tononoka stadium in Mombasa county.

What did Oketch Salah say in Mombasa?

In his speech, the controversial politician sided with ODM leader Oburu Oginga as disputes continued in the party.

Salah urged Oburu’s negotiating team to ensure that he is the running mate of the President William Ruto 2027 is from the ODM party.

“We support the leadership of Oburu Oginga, and we want the negotiation team to ensure that the position of deputy president is given to ODM,” Salah announced.

Did Junet Mohamed warn Oketch Salah?

Before taking his seat, Salah was strongly warned by Junet against printing ODM t-shirts with Ruto’s picture. The businessman has been selling ODM while supporting Ruto’s bid to be re-elected in 2027.

However, Junet warned against the production and distribution of ODM t-shirts with the image of the president, warning that such actions are unacceptable and can cause serious harm.

“Salah, stop your business of making t-shirts for the president and ODM completely, have you heard? Make only ODM t-shirts or you will be beaten,” Junet said.

Did the ODM party reject Oketch Salah?

Earlier, the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) had publicly distanced itself from the controversial Migori businessman.

Shortly after midnight on Saturday, February 7, ODM, through the national chairman Gladys Wangathe party denied Salah’s political activities, explaining that they were unauthorized and personal.

Wanga said that all party plans must be managed through the ODM secretariat under the leadership of party leader Oburu Oginga.

The disengagement followed criticism of Salah’s “Linda Comrades” event at the KICC, where attendees wore ODM-branded clothing while displaying hats bearing President William Ruto’s image.

The ODM chairman’s statement was aimed at maintaining a firm position, warning leaders, members and grassroots supporters against organizing activities in the name of the party without prior consultation.

Wanga further offered his advice to lower-level party officials as an attempt to restore discipline within ODM ranks ahead of further talks.
