Nairobi – The Kenya Meteorological Department has released its weekly weather forecast for the next seven days.

In a statement, Kenya Met predicted that most parts of the country will experience sunny and dry conditions between Tuesday, February 10, and 16.
Which areas will get rain this week?
During the same period, the meteorologist predicted that some areas in the five regions will receive rain.
“Mostly sunny and dry conditions are expected in most parts of the country. However, there is a chance of rain in some areas, especially the Central Highlands, Lake Victoria Basin, Rift Valley, Southeastern Lowlands, and Western Kenya,” Kenya Met said.
Daytime highs of 30°C are expected in several parts of the country, including the Coast, south-east lowlands, north-east, and north-west Kenya.
Meanwhile, night temperatures below 10°C are expected in parts of the Central Highlands, Central Rift Valley, Western Kenya, and areas around Mount Kilimanjaro.
Detailed regional rainfall forecast for February 10 to 16
1. Highlands West of the Rift Valley, Lake Victoria Basin and Rift Valley
The counties in these areas are Nandi, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Siaya, Busia, Baringo, Nakuru, Trans-Nzoia, Uasin-Gishu, Elgeyo-Marakwet, West Pokot, Kisii, Nyamira, Kericho, Bomet, PoisonousHoma Bay, Migori and Narok.
In these counties, morning showers may occur in a few places. Afternoon showers and thunderstorms are expected in a few areas during the first half of the forecast period, increasing to several areas later.
Kenya Met predicted that overnight rains may occur in a few places.
2. North West Kenya
Turkana and Samburu counties will experience sunny spells during the day, with partly cloudy conditions at night. 3 Highlands East of the Rift Valley
The meteorologist predicted that Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, Tharaka-Nithi and Nairobi counties will experience periods of sunshine during the day, with partly cloudy conditions at night.
However, afternoon and night showers are likely to occur at a few places during the second half of the forecast period.
4. North-Eastern Kenya
In the counties of Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa and Isiolo, sunny periods are expected during the day, with partly cloudy conditions at night.
5. Southeast Plains
KMD predicted that Machakos, Kitui, Makueni, Kajiado and Taita-Taveta counties as well as the interior parts of Tana River county will experience sunny periods during the day, with partly cloudy conditions at night.
However, there is a possibility of morning showers and overnight showers in a few places in Kajiado County during the second half of the forecast period.
6. The beach
The counties of Mombasa, Kilifi, Lamu and Kwale as well as the Tana Delta are expected to have periods of sunshine during the day, with partly cloudy conditions at night.
