The gospel music industry is still reeling after a grim discovery was made inside a music studio in Lagos, Nigeria.

The bodies of popular gospel singer, Matthew Ogundele, and three others, Joseph Sanya and Itunu Ogundele, as well as blogger, Matthew Awosanya, were found lifeless inside the studio located at Abraham Adesanya area in Ajah, Lagos State, within the HFP Shopping Complex.
Authorities later confirmed that all four had passed away, although the official cause of death is still unknown.
However, reports indicate that the group arrived at the studio a day later, on Tuesday, February 3, where they reportedly performed until midnight.
Due to the distance from their residence, they allegedly decided to sleep in the studio. Police reports cited by Legit.ng indicated that Olanireti’s husband, Akintayo Akinbola, reported the incident.
He reportedly told officers that he left the studio early in the evening after delivering food to the singers.
The case has been referred to the Nigerian Criminal Investigation Department.

While the investigation continues, friends, family members and social media users have been calling for transparency and accountability in relation to the deaths.
Photos of the late gospel singer and his accomplices have been circulating online, sparking whispers and concerns about the circumstances of the incident.
However, the police said that the bodies did not show any suspicious signs, noting that the official results of the autopsy are still pending.
Meanwhile, a photo of Olanireti has also surfaced online, showing him holding a microphone on a billboard advertising the Sifa marathon where the tragedy occurred.
