Artiste Fredrick Ngatia Karumbia, popularly known as DJ Krowbar, offered an emotional prayer for his late wife, Joyce Wanjiru Karumba, during her memorial service.

The mother of three is expected to be buried on Thursday, February 5, in Naromoru, Nyeri County.
Joyce died on January 26, at 3 am after a long battle with kidney related problems.
How did DJ Krowbar remember his wife Joyce Karumba?
At the service held at the Nairobi Church on Ngong Road, DJ Krowbar struggled to contain his emotions. At one point, she was crying and had to be held by a close friend.
The entertainer recalled the important moments from their life together.

She admitted to spending the previous night going through photos and videos of the couple, reflecting on the memories that made her sad and grateful.
He talked about one video in particular, shot in Cape Town just a few days after their anniversary.
“I’m going to miss this girl. Yesterday, I didn’t sleep. I was going through all the pictures and all the videos. It was a video we shot in Cape Town. Joy was filming me doing my job, talking words of encouragement into my life. That year was very difficult, but she said it was still the best year we’ve ever had, even in that situation. She told me, ‘You’re going to graduate, and that education will change your life.’ And indeed, it has changed,” he recalled.
DJ Crowbar’s promise to his children
DJ Krowbar also addressed his children, assuring them of his strength and commitment as a father.
“I’m standing here in front of my wife telling my kids you have a strong father. This is going to be our best year yet. I honestly don’t know how, but I’m talking like this. Every year, my wife would say, ‘This is going to be our best year yet,’ and even in the hard times, it was always like that. A lot of fruit will come out of this pain. I’m talking about this,” he shared.
Concluding his prayer, DJ Krowbar asked for prayers for his family and community during this difficult time.
“When I finish, I pray for two things for my family: that God give us grace for this new season, and that we mourn properly. This loss is difficult, but I don’t want it to harm my family in the years to come. I want us to mourn well and emerge stronger,” he said.
