Philip Aroko, Evans Kidero Are Among Candidates From Nyanza Seeking UDA 2027 Tickets

According to the Vice President Kithur KindikiUDA has registered 12,353 candidates for various election positions.

How many gubernatorial candidates are seeking the UDA ticket?

Kindiki revealed that the party has 149 candidates for governor positions, 279 for 47 elected senatorial seats, 323 for 47 women representative positions, and 1,372 candidates who want 290 National Assembly seats.

The number of people who want County Parliament positions has reached 10,230 against 1,450 wards across the country.

Several Luo leaders have changed their allegiance and contested on the UDA ticket for election positions in Kisumu, Migori, Homa Bay, and Siaya counties.

The report shows that the number of Luo leaders interested in governorship seats is nine from three countries, while no politician from Kisumu shows interest in the party’s ticket.

Among the candidates are leaders in power and former members of parliament.

In Nairobi, the former governor Evans Kidero expressed his intention to run for the same position on the UDA ticket.

Kidero was the first Nairobi county boss after devolution, but his tenure was marred by several allegations of corruption.

President William Ruto had previously announced that he would win the re-election by a margin of between two and three million votes.

Nehemiah Rotich, a 24-year-old student at Cambridge Universal University, is looking for an MCA position in Koitugum division, Chebororwa in Elgeyo Marakwet county.

Sudi said Rotich rode a motorbike for five days, living on rice and vegetables and guided by his passion to lead and help vulnerable families in his village.
