Residents and business operators in the area said the woman’s body was discovered on Tuesday, February 2, in the morning by lodge staff.
Was the Kericho woman killed?
Citizen TV reported that the woman, who was found in bed in one of the rooms, had stab wounds.
According to witnesses, three men had entered the lodge with the woman on Monday, February 2, night, but what happened next was not immediately clear.
Police arrested one man believed to be involved, while two others reportedly fled, leading to a manhunt.
The two caretakers of the lodge who housed the group are also in custody at Brooke Police Station pending further enquiries.
The woman’s body was taken to the Kericho County Referral Hospital mortuary pending identification and post-mortem.
Did a man kill a woman in a gesture?
The incident comes less than a week after a young woman was found dead at a lodge in Kapkatet town on Saturday, January 24.
According to preliminary results, the woman had booked a room on Friday, January 23, with a man who paid for the accommodation using M-Money.
Reports indicated that the man left the lodge around 5:00 am on Saturday, leaving the woman alone in the room.
The body was discovered around 7:00 am by a housekeeper who had gone to clean the rooms.
The attendant informed the management, who then alerted officers from the Kapkatet Police Station. The police arrived at the scene, documented the incident, and found relevant evidence.
Police obtained CCTV footage from the lodge, which is expected to help trace the man who was last seen with the deceased and establish the sequence of events that led to his death.

In related news, one family there Nanyuki was left shocked after their 20-year-old daughter was found dead in a guest house under mysterious circumstances.
Risper Faith left his home at noon and called his father, who was at work, asking him for a fare of KSh 200 to go to town.
In a post shared by Westkagu Jacque, Risper’s father became worried later that evening when he returned home to find that his daughter had not yet returned.
He found it strange that his punctual daughter was missing. The next morning, he looked for her favorite places in the store, but he couldn’t find her.
Worried even more, she decided to file a missing person’s report. On his way to the police station, he checked the local morgue and hospital for unidentified bodies.
